Philippine politics is, in fact, a fluctuating lever with increasing velocities that resemble puzzling waves. It denotes a social activity. And, over time, people have played an important role in electing candidates and adding them to the electoral roll in order for them to have a national constituency, in the hopes that their individual vote will make a difference for the entire population—embracing each and every region of our soil, for instance. There is a need to use electoral politics cohesively, supplying as a silver lining in the continuous calls for change and sustainable development, given the pressing social, economic, and political issues that existed even before the pandemic and were then exacerbated with the onset of today's health crisis.
Now that the 2022 National Election is only a few months away, the peak season for politicians has begun, and so has the peak season for voters and other political audiences and participants. It is past time to act and join the call for a free and fair election that is attentive to the interests of the people and the country. It will all start with a vote that will define the country's path for the next six (6) years, led by newly elected individuals with humanistic values, goals, advocacies, and projects. However, we do not just vote irresponsibly as this would only result in an erroneous voting culture among competent voters who are losing a bit of their grip over selecting the best candidate. To do so, active participation in dialogue, forums, round table talks, debates, and other activities that will aid in analyzing and selecting the finest candidates for each elective office is essential.
